The annual Monsterpalooza convention gets better every year. Attendance this past weekend
soared way beyond the exhibit hall's capacity and there were long waiting lines everywhere
inside the building, even for the men's restrooms. Losing sight of companions occurred all
too often amongst the milling multitudes but I managed to connect with fellow Monster-Mayhem
members JLitening, Creeping Dead, Manheim Wolf, Klung1, gracebuster, tony vincenzo,
Hans Beckert, Ghastly Jeff, DahOne, Wizard of Ooze, Green Ghoul, and event producer
There was something marvelous to see in every nook and cranny of the huge event center.
I saw fans posing for pictures with a giant "A L I E N" figure ~
A puppeteer was controlling its movements from behind ~
For mask geeks like me, the dealers room was pure paradise ~
I saw and purchased a really awesome new mask at the "World of Verne Langdon" booth
on opening day ~
The creator told me it's being released under the same music label
through which its namesake record album was first marketed in
the mid 1970s ~
After seeing filmmaker Sandy Collora's Turtlebeast on display at previous shows,
I really wanted to attend the afternoon screening of its starring vehicle Shallow Water.
Mr Collora was unable to meet his crowd-funding goal to produce
a full-length feature so he settled for a short film instead.
The screening was followed by a Q & A with the performers and free
autographed poster giveaway. 'Pretty cool stuff ~
There was a walk-through "Monster Museum" next to the Theatre which I may post about
later once my images are all sorted. In the meantime, share your own pics and memories
of Monsterpalooza 2017.
